Description
Our Damascus Kitchen Knife Set 4 Piece Texas Flag Handle combines 4 hand-forged kitchen knives with distinctive blue, white, and red handles inspired by the Texas flag. The set includes a vegetable cleaver, slicing knife, chef knife, and Santoku knife for chopping, slicing, dicing, mincing, trimming, and everyday food preparation.
Each blade is forged from pattern-welded 15N20 and 1095 high-carbon steel. A polished, acid-etched finish reveals the flowing random Damascus pattern, while the Texas star and multicolour handle construction give the collection a recognisable finish.
What Knives Are Included in Our 4-Piece Collection?
Our kitchen knife set contains:
- 8-inch Damascus vegetable cleaver
- 8-inch Damascus slicing knife
- 8-inch Damascus chef knife
- 7-inch Damascus Santoku knife
These 4 blade profiles cover large vegetable preparation, long slicing cuts, general chopping, and controlled precision work. Customers who prefer a larger collection with boning, utility, and paring knives can compare our Damascus chef knife set with rosewood handles.

What Is the Damascus Vegetable Cleaver Used For?
Our vegetable cleaver has a wide rectangular blade that provides a large cutting surface and useful knuckle clearance. It works well for chopping vegetables, cabbage, herbs, fruit, cheese, and boneless meat.
The broad 3.5-inch blade can also help transfer prepared ingredients from a cutting board into a pan, tray, or bowl. This cleaver is intended for food preparation and should not be used on bones, frozen food, or other hard materials.
How Can You Use the Damascus Slicing Knife?
The Damascus slicing knife has a long, narrow 8-inch blade designed for smooth slicing with reduced resistance. Its profile suits brisket, cooked roasts, poultry, fish, large fruit, and boneless meat portions.
Use controlled slicing movements instead of heavy downward chopping. The narrower blade width helps the knife move through larger ingredients while reducing unnecessary contact with the food.
What Tasks Suit the Damascus Chef Knife?
Our 8-inch chef knife handles common daily preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, slicing meat, dicing onions and fruit, and mincing garlic or herbs.
Its curved cutting edge supports both straight slicing and rocking movements. The broad blade also provides practical knuckle clearance and helps move chopped ingredients from the cutting board.
For additional blade combinations containing a bread knife, utility knife, and paring knife, explore our Damascus kitchen knife set with ash wood handles.
Why Is the Damascus Santoku Knife Versatile?
Our 7-inch Santoku knife provides a compact and controlled option for vegetables, herbs, fish, fruit, and boneless meat. It supports slicing, dicing, chopping, and mincing during everyday meal preparation.
The wide blade offers useful cutting-board clearance and can help collect prepared ingredients. Its shorter overall length may suit cooks who prefer more control than a full-sized chef knife provides.
More individual kitchen blade profiles are available in our chef knives collection.
What Makes the 15N20 and 1095 Damascus Blades Distinctive?
Each blade is made from hand-forged, pattern-welded 15N20 and 1095 high-carbon steel. The 15N20 layers create the brighter lines within the pattern, while the 1095 layers form the darker sections.
The blades are forged, ground, heat-treated, polished, acid-etched, and sharpened by hand. They have a specified hardness of 59–60 HRC, a plain cutting edge, and a suggested edge angle of approximately 15 degrees per side.
These are high-carbon Damascus blades rather than stainless-steel knives. Regular cleaning, drying, and oiling are therefore required.
How Are the Texas Flag Handles Constructed?
Our Texas Flag handles combine natural camel bone, red pakkawood, and blue pakkawood in a blue, white, and red arrangement.
Each handle includes:
- Stainless-steel bolster and pommel
- Decorative stainless-steel Texas star
- Stainless-steel handle pins
- Hand-contoured grip
- Sanded, polished, and sealed finish
The white section is made from natural camel bone. Grain, shade, and small markings can vary from one handle to another. Red and blue pakkawood provide a consistent colour contrast and improved moisture resistance.
How Should You Care for Our High-Carbon Damascus Knives?
Wash each knife by hand after use and dry it immediately. Do not place the knives in a dishwasher or leave food residue and moisture on the blades.
Clean acidic residue from tomatoes, onions, citrus fruit, and similar ingredients promptly. Apply a thin layer of food-safe mineral oil before storage to help protect the high-carbon steel.
Use wooden or food-safe plastic cutting boards. Avoid glass, stone, ceramic, and metal surfaces because they can reduce cutting-edge sharpness. Sharpen the blades with a suitable whetstone or professional sharpening system.
