Description

Hand-forged. One of a kind. Built to work.

Damascus Bull Cutter Knife 8" Fixed Blade, Red Pakka Wood

The bull cutter is a rancher's tool with a job to do: a squared, heavy-tipped blade built for control at close range. This one is forged from 15N20/1095 Damascus and hardened to 59–61 RC, so it carries the flowing layered pattern only real Damascus gives you. The handle is deep red pakka wood — dense, water-resistant, and finished with a rich marbled grain. At 8" overall with a 4" blade, it's a working knife with real presence, and no two ever come out the same.

Where Craftsmanship Meets Capability

15N20/1095 is a proven Damascus pairing: the nickel-bearing 15N20 and high-carbon 1095 forge-weld into bright, high-contrast layers that etch into an unmistakable flowing pattern. The squared bull-cutter tip gives you control and safety for close cutting where a fine point isn't wanted, and at 59–61 RC the edge holds through rope, hide, and daily ranch work. Red pakka wood brings both looks and durability — a resin-stabilized hardwood that shrugs off moisture, won't crack or swell, and takes a deep marbled finish. Tough enough for the field, handsome enough for the case.

What Sets This Knife Apart

  • Hand-forged 15N20/1095 Damascus with high-contrast layers
  • 59–61 RC hardness — sharp edge, won't chip
  • Red pakka wood handle — water-resistant, marbled grain
  • Squared bull-cutter blade for control and safety
  • Handmade pancake leather sheath included
  • Optional custom engraving on the blade

15N20/1095 Damascus Steel

Two proven steels forge-welded into bright, layered Damascus. The etched pattern flows the length of the blade and repeats on no other knife. High-carbon, not stainless  built for edge retention, not rust-proof shortcuts.

🌳

Red Pakka Wood Handle

A resin-stabilized hardwood that resists water and wear. Deep red marbled grain that won't crack or swell  different on every handle. Needs no oiling, just a wipe. That's its advantage over natural wood.

59–61 RC Hardness

Hard enough to hold a razor edge through heavy use, tough enough to take impact without chipping. The sweet spot for a working blade that sees rope, hide, and daily ranch tasks.

Handmade Pancake Leather Sheath

Ships with a handmade pancake leather sheath. No extra purchase, no waiting — strap it on and carry it out of the box. Built to match the knife's craftsmanship.

Questions You Might Have

1 What is a bull cutter knife? +
It's a ranch working knife with a squared, heavy tip instead of a fine point. That profile gives you control and safety for close cutting work where a sharp point isn't wanted — common in livestock handling, rope cutting, and general ranch utility.
2 Is Damascus steel rust-proof? +
No — 15N20/1095 is high-carbon Damascus, not stainless, so it needs a little care. Wipe it dry after use and give it a light oil now and then and it'll last for generations. See the care guide below.
3 What's the blade hardness? +
59–61 RC — the ideal range for a working knife. Hard enough to hold a sharp edge through heavy use, without becoming brittle.
4 Will my knife look exactly like the photo? +
Close, but not identical. The Damascus etching and the pakka wood grain vary from knife to knife, so every piece is one of a kind. That's what makes yours yours.
5 Can I get it engraved? +
Yes. Add a name, initials, ranch brand, or a short line to the blade at checkout — it makes the Bull Cutter a genuinely one-of-a-kind gift.
6 Does it come with a sheath? +
Yes — every BC-412 ships with a handmade pancake leather sheath, ready to carry out of the box.

Care Guide  Keeping Damascus & Pakka Wood Right

  • Wipe the blade dry after every use. Damascus is high-carbon, not stainless — moisture left on the steel is the main cause of spotting.
  • Keep a light coat of oil on it. A thin film of mineral or food-safe blade oil protects the steel and keeps the etched pattern crisp between uses.
  • Clean by hand — never the dishwasher. Heat and detergent are hard on carbon Damascus.
  • The pakka handle is easy. Resin-stabilized wood needs no oiling — just wipe it clean and dry. That's its advantage over natural wood.
  • Touch up the edge, don't grind it. A fine stone or ceramic rod restores the edge in a few passes without removing much steel or dulling the pattern.
  • Surface spot? Don't panic. Light patina wipes off with a little oil and a non-scratch pad. It's cosmetic, not damage.
  • Store dry, out of the sheath long-term. Leather holds moisture; for long storage keep the knife out of the sheath in a dry spot.
