Description
Forged Damascus. Genuine Antler Grip. Built for the Buckaroo Life.
The Buckaroo Knife is a working blade in the tradition of the Great Basin vaqueros riders who took pride in fine gear that could still put in a hard day. Forged from 15N20/1095 Damascus and hardened to 59–61 RC, it carries the flowing layered pattern only real Damascus gives you, fitted to a natural antler horn handle. At 8" overall with a 4" drop-point blade, it's the right size for ranch work, hunting, or a serious blade in your collection and no two antler grips are ever the same.
Where Craftsmanship Meets the Ranch
15N20/1095 is a proven Damascus pairing the nickel-bearing 15N20 and high-carbon 1095 forge-weld into bright, high-contrast layers that etch out into that unmistakable flowing pattern. Hardened to 59–61 RC, the 4" drop point holds a keen edge through real use: rope, hide, feed, and field dressing.
The antler horn handle traces straight back to old cowboy knives. Every rack is different, so the grain, color, and crown of your grip are yours alone a natural material that warms in the hand and only looks better with the years.

Care Guide | Keeping Damascus & Antler Right
- Wipe the blade dry after every use. Damascus is high-carbon, not stainless moisture left on the steel is the main cause of spotting.
- Keep a light coat of oil on it. A thin film of mineral or food-safe blade oil protects the steel and keeps the etched pattern crisp between uses.
- Clean by hand never the dishwasher. Heat and detergent are hard on carbon Damascus and can dry out the antler.
- Care for the antler. A rare rub of oil or beeswax keeps natural antler from drying and checking over the years.
- Touch up the edge, don't grind it. A fine stone or ceramic rod restores the edge in a few passes without removing much steel or dulling the pattern.
- A little patina is normal. Carbon steel darkens with use — cosmetic and even protective. Heavy spotting wipes back with oil and a non-scratch pad.
-
Store dry, out of the sheath long-term. Leather holds moisture; for long storage keep the knife out of the sheath in a dry place.
