Blade Material and Composition
This blade is forged from a combination of 1095 high carbon steel and 15N20 steel, layered together with copper to create copper Damascus.
- 1095 provides hardness and edge retention
- 15N20 adds flexibility and toughness
- Copper layers produce contrast and pattern
This combination results in a strong, balanced blade built for both use and display.
Heat Treatment and Hardness
After forging, the blade undergoes controlled heat treatment.
The blade is heated to around 1475°F (800°C) and held to stabilize its internal structure. It is then quenched in warm oil to lock in hardness while reducing stress.
Following quenching, the blade is tempered between 375°F and 425°F in multiple cycles. This process reduces brittleness and improves durability.
The final hardness reaches 59–61 HRC, providing:
- Strong edge retention
- Resistance to chipping
- Reliable cutting performance
Blade Construction Process
Copper Damascus steel is produced through layered forging.
- Steel and copper layers are stacked
- The billet is forge-welded under heat
- The material is folded and shaped repeatedly
- Patterns form naturally through forging
This process ensures the pattern runs through the blade, not just on the surface.
Made in Canada
This knife is made in Canada, where controlled production and careful finishing ensure consistent quality across each piece.
Makers Behind the Knife
This blade is produced through a collaboration between:

Their combined expertise brings together traditional forging methods and modern finishing standards, resulting in a knife that performs well and holds visual appeal.
