About Us
Stag Steel Knives — Making Knives by Hand Since 2001
We make knives by hand. No machines stamping them out, no factory line. Every blade is forged, ground, and finished one at a time.
We've been doing this since 2001. The knives are built for people who actually use them — hunters, guys who spend real time outdoors, and collectors who know the difference between handmade and mass-produced..

How It Started
Started in 2001 with one workbench and some basic tools. Naqash Minhas wanted to learn how to make knives, so he did — the slow way.
The first years were mostly trial and error. Shaping steel by hand, figuring out heat treatment, wrecking a few blades. Each one came out better than the last.
Got into Damascus steel after a while — the folded, layered blades. Then Copper Damascus, the Cu-Mai stuff, which is harder to make but worth the trouble.

The Canada Side
Naqash now works with a partner in Canada, Christopher Merrett. That let us ship to more people without changing how the knives get made.
Same process, same forge, same standards. Just a base in Canada now, shipping across North America and beyond.

How We Make Them
Forged, ground, and finished by hand. The Damascus patterns come out of the forge, not off a printer. Handles are fitted one at a time — camel bone, bullhorn, hardwood.
No factory. No shortcuts. Just a knife that holds up.

Gifts and Custom Work
A lot of these end up as gifts — Father's Day, groomsmen, that kind of thing. We do engraved sheaths and gift boxes if you want it to look the part.
Want something specific? We take custom orders and do engraving. Just tell us what you're after.

Our Take
Buy good gear and buy less of it. Everything we make is built to last. If something's not right when it gets to you, send it back and we'll sort it out.
